Where to report a problem with Royal Reels

Short answer: Royal Reels complaints go to different places. Illegal site: ACMA, 1300 850 115. Fees to unlock winnings: Scamwatch. Card disputes: your bank, then AFCA. Shared ID: IDCARE, 1800 595 160. No Australian dispute scheme covers the casino itself.

Who handles what

Royal Reels complaints go to different bodies depending on what went wrong. Royal Reels is offshore and holds no Australian licence, so no Australian dispute scheme covers the casino itself. What Australian bodies can do is act against illegal sites and scams, deal with your bank, and help protect your identity. Find the row that matches your problem.

Reporting to ACMA and Scamwatch

Making an ACMA complaint about a gambling site

To report an illegal gambling site in Australia, use ACMA’s online complaint form or call 1300 850 115. The same number appears on the “Website blocked” page that Australians see when they try to open a blocked site, and that page also offers a way to ask for a review. Include the site name, what you saw, the date and screenshots. Never include passwords.

Set your expectations before you file an ACMA complaint about gambling services. ACMA’s published actions on Royal Reels are an investigation from 8 May 2023, a formal warning to the operator on 14 June 2023 and ISP blocks from July 2023. We have not seen ACMA describe recovering money for individual players, so treat a complaint as help for enforcement, not as a refund route. Background: why Royal Reels is blocked in Australia.

Making a Scamwatch report

Scamwatch is the place for fee demands, fake casino sites and anyone pressuring you to pay. Its advice is clear: never pay a fee or tax to unlock winnings. Scamwatch says a report “helps us stop scammers and warn others”, and with your consent it can be used to get scam websites, ads and contact details removed (checked 18 Oct 2026).

The National Anti-Scam Centre is running a taskforce on fake online casinos, which it calls scambling, from 8 July to 9 December 2026. It says Scamwatch reports about these scams rose from 677 in 2024 to 806 in 2025.

Your bank, AFCA and IDCARE

Disputing a card or bank payment

If you want a Royal Reels refund of a deposit that never reached your balance, or you see payments you did not make, call your bank or card provider straight away. Scamwatch advises contacting your bank immediately and asking it to stop any transactions. Ask which dispute options and time limits apply to your payment.

If your bank does not resolve it, AFCA can step in. AFCA describes its service as “fair, free and independent dispute resolution for financial complaints”, recommends raising the problem with your financial firm first, and notes that time limits apply (verified on afca.org.au, 18 Oct 2026). AFCA deals with your bank, not with the casino.

If you shared ID documents

IDCARE, Australia and New Zealand’s identity and cyber support service, can help you make a free plan to limit the damage. Call 1800 595 160.

Beware of recovery offers

Be wary of anyone who contacts you offering to get your money back. Scamwatch warns that money recovery scams target people who have already lost money, pose as law firms, fraud taskforces or government agencies, and ask for payment up front (alert of 5 April 2022). It also says 1 in 3 scam victims have been scammed more than once (page updated 9 December 2025).

What licence regulators can and can’t do here

Royal Reels claims a licence, but the claims don’t match the registers. We found no matching licence in the public registers we checked, and PAGCOR, the Philippine regulator its terms cite, cancelled all internet gaming licences from 15 December 2024. With no matching licence, there is no licence regulator we can point you to for a Royal Reels dispute.

Review sites are public, not a resolution route

Trustpilot and review databases such as Casino.guru publish complaints, and the company sometimes replies in public. They are not regulators or official dispute schemes. Casino.guru lists 102 Royal Reels complaints in total, 57 of them rejected and 14 unresolved, although its review text, updated July 2026, mentions 15 (unclear).

If you post, leave out your account ID, documents, full name and bank details, and be wary of anyone who contacts you afterwards offering help.

Evidence checklist and complaint outline

Whoever you contact, the same records make your case easier to act on. Start collecting them now.

  • Your account ID and the email or phone number you registered with
  • Dates, times and amounts of every deposit and withdrawal request
  • Bank or card statement lines for each payment
  • Screenshots of your balance, the pending request and any error or block page
  • Chat transcripts, ticket replies and emails, including any reason given
  • The clause the casino relied on, copied from its terms on the day
  • Notes of calls with your bank: date, name and reference number

A short complaint outline

Use this structure for a Royal Reels dispute with the casino, your bank or AFCA. Keep it to one page.

  1. Who you are: name, contact details, and your casino account ID or bank account details, depending on who you write to.
  2. What happened: dates, amounts and references, in order.
  3. What you have done so far: who you contacted, when, and what they said.
  4. What you are asking for: from the casino, a written reason and a payout date; from your bank, a review of the named transactions.
  5. Attachments: a list of the screenshots and statements you include.

Stick to dates, amounts and what was said.

Realistic expectations

ACMA warns that a service that looks legitimate is “unlikely to have important customer protections”, and that “Australians who use illegal gambling services risk losing their money.” Your bank, AFCA, Scamwatch and IDCARE can each help with their part, but nobody can promise you a result.

Look after yourself while this runs. A stuck payout can be stressful, and Gambling Help Online is free on 1800 858 858, 24/7. Complaint questions

  • Where do Royal Reels complaints go?

It depends on the problem: ACMA for an illegal gambling site, Scamwatch for fee demands or fake sites, your bank and then AFCA for disputed payments, and IDCARE if you shared ID. For your account or a payout, only the casino’s own support can act. No Australian dispute scheme covers the casino itself.

  • How do I report an illegal gambling site?

Use ACMA’s online complaint form on acma.gov.au or call 1300 850 115. Include the site name, the date, what you saw and screenshots, but never your passwords.

  • Can ACMA get my money back?

We have not seen ACMA describe recovering money for individual players. Its published actions on Royal Reels are a formal warning to the operator and blocks by Australian internet providers. For payment disputes, start with your bank.

  • Can I get a refund through my bank?

Your bank can review card or transfer payments you dispute, such as a deposit that never reached your balance. Whether anything comes back depends on the payment and the bank’s rules, so we can’t promise a result. Call promptly, and if you are unhappy with its answer, AFCA offers free, independent dispute resolution.

  • Someone offered to recover my money for a fee. Is that genuine?

Treat it with great suspicion. Scamwatch warns that money recovery scams target people who have already lost money, often posing as law firms or government agencies, and ask for payment up front. Don’t pay, don’t share ID, and report the contact to Scamwatch.

  • Who can help if this is affecting my wellbeing?

Gambling Help Online is free and confidential on 1800 858 858, by phone or chat, 24/7, and it supports family and friends too. For crisis support at any hour, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
